Testing and safety

Raw materials of animal origin are of local origin (excluding fish).   No imported animal proteins have been included in any of our products with the exception of lamb and venison which are imported from New Zealand or Australia.  All raw animal materials come from processing plants that have undergone strict veterinary and USDA controls. These processing plants have the sole purpose of producing foods for human consumption.  
All animal protein raw materials have undergone heat treatment in excess of 271 degrees F for at least 30 minutes at the pressures of 3 bars in accordance with USDA-APHIS and European Union standards for inspection.  
USDA-APHIS officials inspect all ingredients suppliers to ensure compliance.  
All incoming ingredients are sampled and analyzed in our Quality Assurance Laboratory to ensure they meet ingredient specifications. Ingredients are are regularly examined for the following components and quality assurances, protein, fat, crude fiber, ash, toxins, stability and appearance.
All completed batches are analyzed by an independent lab for salmonella, Enterobacteriaceae, protein, fat crude fiber, ash, moisture, sulfur, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, calcium, sodium, iron, manganese, copper, zinc, starch,appearance, stability.
Finished products are sampled and regularly tested in our Quality Assurance Laboratory for the following components and quality assurances, protein,  fat,  moisture, ash, crude fiber, odor, color, shape and coating.
We do not release any foods to the public until all tests have been completed by independent laboratory testing with a passing mark.
